Auctioneers and Appraisers

Just a few of the items in a Greenwich Village apartment that we appraised prior to selling the estate at our auction.
Do you own an antique or family heirloom?
What is it worth?
Would you like to know?
We can tell you.
As a member of The Appraiser's
Association of America,
Inc., Stephen L. Snow, Auctioneers & Appraisers
is
qualified to provide a full range of appraisal
services to Trustees,
Attorneys, Bank or Trust
Officers, and Individuals.
Appraisals are a
sure way of knowing the value of a
piece of furniture, silver, artwork, or
any other
family heirloom. Having your items appraised allows
you to, not
only insure them properly, but also to
appreciate and understand their value.
There is great
satisfaction in owning a valuable object and peace of
mind
in knowing its worth.
Our policy is to be as accurate and consistent in
the
assessment of value.
ESTATE APPRAISALS - are a key in determining
proper
distribution and dispersal of personal property. Each
item is examined
and described according to the
object, age, medium, condition, and any other
identifying
characteristics. Objects are assessed at
Fair Market Value, as of the date
of death.
INSURANCE APPRAISALS - are important in order to
accurately
evaluate insurance coverage needs in the
event of fire, theft, or other loss.
Each item is
examined and specifically identified according to the
object,
age, medium, dimensions, condition, and any
other important characteristics.
Items are evaluated
at Full Replacement Value.
DAMAGE & LOSS
APPRAISALS - with careful examination,
we can visually reconstruct the
item that was damaged
or partially destroyed by fire, water, or other acts
of
nature. Objects are described, age, medium,
condition, the value before damage,
the value after
damage, and the total loss of value. Full Replacement
Values
are used as the basis.
REPORTS - upon completion of the appraiser's
inspection,
research is done and copies of the
appraisal with an affidavit listing our
qualifications,
and
the values basis used for the appraisal, are sent
within two weeks.
RATES
- appraisal fees include on-site services of an
expert appraiser, as well
as any research and the
final preparation of the appraisal report. Our fee
is
based on an hourly rate. We will be happy to discuss a
cost estimate,
prior to any service rendered.
